So, how long should we not eat? In reality, if you think about it, you shouldn’t eat until what you ate comes out. You digested the meal; your body took everything it needed from it and you eliminated it. When you eat continuously throughout the day, you keep too many functions in and around the digestive system working too hard. It was designed for this kind of constant eating. What would happen if you worked out with weights every 1.5 to 2 hours all day long, every day. Your muscles would be depleted, and you’d be wiped out. That is why no one does this. People’s gastrointestinal systems are sick! They are overworked and sick. On top of this, we are eating food that has been cooked so it doesn’t have enzymes. And, enzymes are what the pancreas needs for proper digestion. I attended a monastery and there were these Buddhist monks that were 70 and 80 years old and they had perfect bodies. They ate once a day. The monks eat between 11:00am – 12:00 noon each day. The diet they consume is whatever grows around them in nature. They eat vegetables, beans, rice so they do cook a little but consume a lot of plant-based raw foods.
