Surviving Hodgkin’s Lymphoma Adam’s Story https://www.anoasisofhealing.com/ Adam S. of Bozeman, Montana, is thirty years old and was diagnosed with stage 2 Hodgkin’s lymphoma this past April. Adam’s wife, Valarie is thirty-three and is an Acupuncturist who practices in Bozeman. This is his story from his stay at An Oasis of Healing. Hodgkin’s lymphoma is a cancer that impacts the lymphatic system. The cells in the lymphatic system are part of the immune system and in the case of Hodgkin’s Lymphoma they grow abnormally and may spread to other parts of the body. Adam and Valarie arrived at An Oasis of Healing 10 weeks ago to start his treatment for stage 2 Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. When he was first diagnosed with cancer, his doctor told him he wanted him to do 6 months of full dose chemotherapy. Adam did his research and looked at his options, but he knew he didn’t want to go the conventional treatment route of chemotherapy and radiation. When he was first diagnosed, Adam started green juicing and making lifestyle changes for the better. He was in a high-stress environment and he made the decision to remove himself from that situation to lessen his stress. And, leading up to arriving at our healing center, alongside the green juicing and less stress, he was also doing some Chinese medicine and acupuncture treatments as well. Adam was diligent about sticking to a clean diet immediately after being diagnosed. When he had a follow-up PET scan in August, it showed no progression of the cancer since April. Adam and Valarie then arrived at our center and started making friends quickly with other patients. Adam stated that the “doctors, nurses and staff were wonderful and couldn’t have asked for a better-personalized experience”. He further stated that “everyone was charitable, kind and supportive”. Valarie stated that “it felt like a family and that they were very warmly received and met with both of the doctors right away. They got a great vibe for how the treatments were going to be and the communication was open and consistent the entire time they were there”.
